The vision and purpose of the volunteer program at Emarc is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities by providing opportunities for growth and community participation. Volunteers enable individuals with disabilities to become more active members of their community!
Current Volunteer Opportunities at Emarc Recreation:
Special Olympics Tennis Volunteers Year Round
Sundays, 1-2 p.m., Woburn During the school year
Sundays,4-5 p.m., Outside at the Winchester Courts in the summer
Swim Buddies for Children's Adapted Aquatics
Tuesdays or Fridays, 4:45-5:45 in Reading
Wednesdays or Thursdays, 4:45-5:45 in Malden/RecDeskPortal/Portals/27/Malden Volunteers.pdf
Social Outing Volunteers
Friday evenings or Saturday afternoon, depending on activities and age group.
Flexible schedules, sign up for one or all trips for that month!
Dance Chaperones - Adult and Teen Dances

The Recreation Department offers a flexible internship program, including a NCTRC eligible program for Therapeutic Recreation students interested in community-based programming.
Past multi-disciplinary interns have included students from University of New Hampshire, Western Washington University, UMass Amherst, Gordon College, Lesley University, and Melrose High School.
NOTE: TR Internship program will be temporarily closed until further notice.
